Specification for Locking DHS Plate
- 316L stainless steel and titanium are used to make the plates.
- The Dynamic Hip Screw Plate are offered in a wide range of sizes (3 to 16 holes) and barrel angles (130, 135 140, 145 degrees), with 38 mm (standard) or 25 mm (short) barrels, for use in a variety of clinical situations.
- Without sacrificing the strength of the plate, the number of screw holes per length is maximized. As a result, a smaller incision can accommodate more fixation points.
- In addition to axial compression and multiple-screw fixation of the main fragment in subtrochanteric fractures with shaft extension, dynamic compression plate holes in the Plate side plate allow angulation of 4.5 mm cortex screws for medial fragment fixation with lag screws.
- The 50 mm to 150 mm lengths of the Locking Dynamic Hip Screw Plate Lag Screw are available for controlled collapse and impaction of fragments. The Dynamic Hip Screw Plate compression screw, which only requires one size, can be used when the fracture requires additional intraoperative compression.
- Lag screw rotation within the plate barrel is prevented by two flats in the plate barrel that match the two-flat design of the Dynamic Hip Screw Plate. The plate’s insertion over the lag screw is also made simpler by the two-flat design.
- Trochanteric bursitis is less likely to occur because of the low-profile design of this Plate plate.
- Throughout the procedure, the Locking Dynamic Hip Screw Plate instruments provide direct measurements that enable proper reaming, tapping, and lag screw insertion depth. Over-reaming is prevented with the DHS triple reamer’s built-in stop and locking nut.
- The Locking Dynamic Hip Screw Plate Plate is compatible with a variety of general instruments, including a plate bending press, plate holding forceps, plate bending pliers, bone holding forceps, bone elevators, a bone cutter, a bone nibbler, a depth gauge, a sleeve, a screwdriver, a trocar sleeve, etc.
Uses of Locking DHS Plate
The following proximal femur fractures are recommended for the Locking Dynamic Hip Screw Plate:
- A1 and A2 pertrochanteric fractures
- Type A3 intertrochanteric fractures
- fractures of the basilar neck B1, B2, B3
- fractures in the scrotum
- The Locking Dynamic Hip Screw Plate is recommended for both stable fractures and unstable fractures that can be repaired with a stable medial buttress. The plate allows for controlled fracture fragment compression and collapse. As a result, the fixation is stable, and excessive stress is not concentrated on the implant.
